MTEN Welcomes Sriniketh in Early Signing

Katy native to join Hilltoppers fall of 2018

AUSTIN, Texas – St. Edward's University head men's tennis coach Estevam Strecker announced the signing of Anish Sriniketh Friday on the third day of the early NCAA signing period.

Sriniketh's National Letter of Intent was finalized Friday morning and he will join the Hilltoppers in the fall of 2018.

"I am extremely excited to have Anish join the program for a few reasons," said Strecker. "First, he is a Texas kid, and I am trying very hard to create a program that is attractive to Texas players because I know how hard they work and how hard they compete. That is the identity I'm trying to develop in this program. On top of that, I have been watching Anish compete for almost two years and I think it will be fun to get the opportunity to work with him. He is a very hard worker, dedicated and passionate about tennis. You can't teach some of those things. Anish is an extremely gifted tennis player, and I know he will make a difference in the program by raising the level of practices on a daily basis. Finally, every time you have the opportunity to bring in a player of his caliber, you know your entire program is going to get better, and that is motivating in itself."

Sriniketh is listed at 5-10 and currently competes for Tompkins High School in Katy, Texas. Strecker touts Sriniketh as a gifted, left-handed player who has a very aggressive first serve and first forehand combination.
